Trip Planning Begins
January 31, 2009
I started planning my trip to Europe in September. The first thing I did was discuss with my travel partner where we should go. Our final decision came to this:
- Paris, France
- Lake Garda, Italy
- Salzburg, Austria
- Prague, Czech Republic
- Warsaw, Poland
- Krakow, Poland
- Athens, Greece
- Santorini, Greece
- Rome, Italy
As you can tell, we have quite the journey ahead of us. Because of our budget we knew that we could only travel for a month.
The next thing we had to figure out was how we wanted to travel. We researched many different ways, but decided that a combination of trains, ferries and one flight within Europe would be our best modes of transportation.
As of right now, we have a schedule mapped out, when we will get to our destinations, and when we will leave them. I am lucky to be traveling with a friend who has already been in Europe and is familiar with Euro Rail.
Next week I will update you on the attractions that we plan to see in each city.
The trip planning begins.
This trip looks like it will be amazing – I am very proud and jealous of you for going so far away from home and experiencing something great. I have a friend who backpacked through Europe last year and she said it was an incredible experience… I hope everything works out for you and you have an amazing time – this trip will be something you will never forget and I hope everything goes well for you – P.S. when you come back I want to see pictures
That looks like an intense itinerary. I really wish I could be as prepared and thought out as you are on this trip. It is very commendable. I hope you have an incredible time and that your trip is full of adventure, safety and amazing stories for all of us back here.
I would absolutely love to go backpacking around europe. It sounds like your trip will be a lot of fun. It is a once in a life time experience. You’ll have to let me know which country was your favorite when you return. My dad’s family still lives across europe so I really should take advantage of it. I wish you well on your trip and I am looking forward to seeing the pictures.
